Kate C. Walker – Director/Producer

Kate Walker’s work has aired on PBS, HBO, Vice, MSNBC, IFC, History, ID and other networks during her more than fifteen years working in documentary film. Kate associate-produced the Peabody Award-winning Earth Made of Glass (Tribeca Film Festival; HBO) and she has produced for other acclaimed series, including “Hate Thy Neighbor” (Vice), “EVOLVE” (History), and “American Experience” (PBS).

Kate has also directed, written, and edited for non-profits like NRDC and the American Museum of Natural History, where she is on staff in the Education Department.

A life-long environmental advocate, Kate holds a M.A. in Science & Natural Resource Journalism from Univ. of Montana and a B.A. from Swarthmore College.

 

Ally Southwood-Smith – Editor

Ally Southwood-Smith is a documentary filmmaker and editor. They began their career working in live production, where they served in many roles, including director, sound engineer, and camera operator. While pursuing their degree in Documentary Production from Brooklyn College, Ally entered the documentary field as an assistant editor on the SXSW-premiered film Bulletproof. They are honored to have been selected as a 2023 Karen Schmeer Film Editing Fellow.

Ally's associate editor credits include The Sun Queen (PBS) and their assistant editor work includes Ruthless: Monopoly's Secret History (PBS), Free Money (TIFF) and Ailey (Sundance). Their professional interests and goals are rooted in editing nonfiction films with a special focus on centering QTBIPOC and other underrepresented communities

Kimberly Mayhorn – Editor

Kimberly Mayhorn is an award-winning video editor with over twenty years of experience working in the television and film industry as an Editor/Producer and Director. She has worked at networks such as NBC, MSNBC, ABC, CNN, CBS, and MTV and has television credits with PBS, ESPN, A&E, United Nations AIDS, Travel Channel, Discovery Health Channel, and National Geographic.

Kimberly is also an interdisciplinary artist and fellow in the Whitney Museum of American Art’s Independent Study Program. She has been nominated for an Emmy Award and GLAAD Media Award and is the recipient of a Telly Award. Kimberly resides in New York and is a graduate of Howard University.
